The Syndicate
The Syndicate was formed by several members of the Zawinul Syndicate to carry on Joe’s legacy. It originally featured four members of the final edition of the Zawinul Syndicate: Drummer Paco Sery, percussionist/vocalist Aziz Sahmaoui, percussionist Jorge Bezerra, and guitarist Alegre Corrêa, who has since been replaced by Munir Hossn. Additional members are Aloune Wade on bass, Emile Parisien on sax, and Thierry Eliez on keyboards. Former Zawinul Syndicate vocalist Sabine Kabongo is a frequent guest.

The Zawinul Legacy Band
The Zawinul Legacy Band was formed by the Zawinul estate as a revolving band that will bring in different musicians that have played with Joe throughout his career. The 2012 edition consists of Scott Kinsey, Alphonso Johnson, Chester Thompson, Robert Thomas, Jr., and Bobby Malach.
